Bio:

John Russell attained a BS in Mathematics from Xavier University in 2019 and is pursuing his Masters Degree in Mathematics for Educators from Webster University. He has taught for 4 years including one year at De Smet Jesuit High School as an Alum Service Corps (ASC) member and has been part of the Mathematics Department at Christian Brothers College High School (CBC) for 3 years. He has taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Mr. Russell coaches freshmen baseball and is the moderator for the Student Leadership Council. In his free time, he enjoys traveling to see his family and friends and playing a wide variety of sports.

About the course:

This Spring, the Math+ program will be focused on Logic and Proofs. In Mathematics, logic and proofs represent the most rigorous way to ‘solve’ a problem and form the backbone of advanced math. These critical skills have become increasingly tested in standardized exams with ~20% of SAT Math questions testing basic logic.

NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Christian Brothers College High School (Room 213). Further details will be communicated to registrants.
