Matthew Ortiz currently teaches high school mathematics and is the department chair at Regis Jesuit High School in Denver, CO. Over his 10 year career he has taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, and Precalculus. He holds an undergraduate degree in Math and Education from St. Edward's University. A passionate mathematician who thinks that math is poetry, philosophy and reveals a deeper understanding of the world and ourselves.

About the course:

This Fall’s course focuses on Probability, a mathematical concept that has both practical relevance and important mathematical applications. The course will teach probability while exploring many real-world applications from finance to decision-making to poker.

NOTE: The course will be taught online with a possibility to go hybrid (online and in-person) depending on the COVID situation. Further details will be communicated to registrants.
