Spring Math+ 2024 - Dallas, TX
Instructor: Kendrick Pitts
Level: Middle School (6th-8th)
Kendrick Pitts double majored in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in 2009. Upon graduation, he discovered a need for more young students to seek interest and careers in STEM related fields. This calling has caused Mr. Pitts to rewrite curriculum for various schools, oversee the STEM program, TEXPREP, for 3 years, and teach high school math for over 10 years throughout his career. He drives students to challenge themselves and perform at his or her personal best. He finds a way to make Math everyone's favorite subject. He is currently at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas where he continues to transfer his passion and interest in mathematics to his students.
This Spring, the Math+ program will be focused on Logic and Proofs. In Mathematics, logic and proofs represent the most rigorous way to ‘solve’ a problem and form the backbone of advanced math. These critical skills have become increasingly tested in standardized exams with ~20% of SAT Math questions testing basic logic.
NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Jesuit College Prep School. Further details such as safety protocols will be communicated to registrants.
