About the course:

Do you like math? Do you like magic?

Math+ Card Tricks will focus on the principles behind mathematical card tricks. Each class, students will be presented with a card trick, then will be tasked to figuring it out individually and with groups. Once the mathematics behind the trick is uncovered, students will then practice it with each other to build their repertoire. By the end of the course, students will have mastered over a dozen card tricks and will be able to explain the mathematical principles behind them. No sleight of hand or fake thumbs are used in these tricks - just mathematical thinking! Students will be excited to come home and show off their new found skills with their family and friends. For many of the tricks, the mathematical explanation may be more impressive than the trick itself!

All tricks have been tested and vetted with other students and the results have been fantastic. The only prerequisite for this course is a desire to try and figure out math card tricks and being willing to blend frustration with fun and fascination.

NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Jesuit Dallas in 3 separate sessions.
