Level: Middle School (incoming 6th-9th graders)

Bio:

Mr. Ohlwiler has been teaching math since 2002.  He taught in a public high school for 18 years, where he sponsored Auto Club for the car enthusiasts of the school and was the JV soccer coach/assistant Varsity coach.  He then taught 7th and 8th grade math at his children's elementary school for 5 years and is now teaching at St. Mary's Catholic HS.  When Mr. O is not teaching; he enjoys exercising, attending car shows, watching his 2 sons play baseball and visiting MLB stadiums with his family.

About the course:

This Summer, the Math+ course will focus on Number Theory – the study of integers (e.g., -1, 2, 3). Over the six classes, we will explore different aspects of this critical concept and will learn what Number Theory is and how it relates to computer applications and important topics including cryptography.

NOTE: The course will be offered in person at the following location:

Dress Code:

Boys - collared shirt, slacks/dress pants or shorts. No athletic shorts, jeans or sweatpants. Boys must be clean shaven and no ear or facial piercings.

Girls - collared shirt, slacks/dress pants or shorts or school uniform skirt. No athletic shorts, jeans, sweatpants or leggings. Girls may not have any facial piercings and may wear modest make up, nails must be less than 1/4" long.
